Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society Selects Stelex University as Charter Member

Bensalem, PA March 10, 2004 — Stelex University, the professional education and technical training arm of Stelex, today announced its approval as a charter member of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) Education Provider Registry (EPR). RAPS is the foremost worldwide member organization creating and upholding standards of ethics, credentialing and education for the Regulatory Affairs (RA) profession within the health product sector. The RAPS EPR is a first-of-its-kind, searchable online database of approved education providers and their RA-related courses. RAPS reviews each EPR listing for adherence to industry standards and criteria for training, including learning objectives, intended audience, delivery methods and instructor/speaker qualifications. Approved programs, such as those offered by Stelex University, are accepted into RAPS’ searchable online database and can be accessed by RA professionals at www.raps.org. All training offered through the EPR is eligible for credit toward professional recertification under the Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) program.

“Regulatory knowledge has been a core part of the Stelex University curriculum since its inception in 1998” said Edward J. Johnson, Esq., CQA, Director of Stelex University. “Our training and education offerings are designed to help attendees understand their regulatory compliance requirements while being mindful of the technological and business considerations they face in their compliance efforts. Receiving the RAPS EPR designation affirms that we have been on the right track.”

In order to receive charter membership, Stelex University completed an extensive application, and successfully demonstrated adherence to all RAPS criteria and guidelines. Stelex University has agreed to comply with RAPS criteria and standards and is licensed to use the RAPS Registered Education Provider logo on marketing material and course material for accepted programs.

“As an important first step in establishing standards for the RA profession, RAPS has created the EPR as an innovative approach to meet the requirements of RA professionals seeking quality, targeted educational opportunities. We are pleased to welcome Stelex University as a Charter Member of the program,” said Alison F. Lawton, chairperson of RAPS’ Board of Directors and senior vice president of Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Quality Systems with Genzyme Corporation.
